ASF runs a financial education campaign during summer

Bucharest, 8th of  July 2019 -  The Financial Supervision Authority (ASF) runs a financial education campaign during summer period that involves direct interaction between ASF specialists and non-bank financial services consumers.

The role of this approach is to disseminate user information directly to the public, as well as to obtain feedback from consumers to help develop new educational projects.

At the beginning of this month, ASF representatives distributed the Travel Insurance Guide to about 500 people at Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest. The publication contains a series of useful information on the benefits and the need to conclude a travel insurance policy as well as on the types of insurance that consumers have at their disposal.

The action was carried out with the support of the Bucharest National Airport Company.

The ASF initiative also supports the development of the optional insurance segment, travel insurances holding at the end of 2018 a share of only 1.51% of the total non-life insurance market.

In the next period, ASF will conduct other financial education actions among the general public.

Financial education is an essential component of the process of protecting the rights and interests of consumers.
