Bucharest, 6 March 2025 – Today, the Financial Supervisory Authority organized a first joint meeting attended by representatives of the Romanian Patronage of Car Service Operators (POSA), of the National Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Romania (UNSAR), as well as of the Romanian Bureau of Car Insurers (BAAR).

During the meeting, technical issues concerning the collaboration between insurers and car servicing companies in the process of ascertaining and settling claims were reviewed. All parties involved agreed to analyse the issues raised and to continue the dialogue with a view to finding appropriate solutions within the limits of competition law. Discussions also focused on the need to improve communication in the individual relationship between insurers and servicers and to establish clearer procedures for cooperation between them.

The Financial Supervisory Authority will continue to facilitate the dialogue between the parties and pursue the implementation of measures that contribute to a balanced and functioning insurance market.

The next technical meeting will aim to define concrete steps to improve relations between insurance companies and repair shops for the benefit of consumers.
