Bucharest, 16 February 2024 – The total number of unique petitions registered by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) in the second half of 2023 was 3,861, down by more than 46% compared to the same period last year.
Broken down by sector, in the second half of 2023, there were:
Distinctly, in the second half of 2023, 783 unique petitions were registered, representing the petitions closed and redirected for resolution to the competent authorities, according to the provisions of GO No. 27/2002, as subsequently amended and supplemented.
All petitions to the Financial Supervisory Authority were resolved within the legal deadline, with an average response time of 18.65 days, according to the data resulting from the monitoring of the petitions management activity. The legal time limit for resolution is 30 days or 45 days where appropriate.
During the second half of 2023, 3,760 petitions were completed at the level of the Financial Supervisory Authority. The differences between the number of petitions registered and the number of petitions completed during the second half of 2023 can be explained by the fact that part of the responses relate to petitions registered in June 2023 and/or by the fact that part of the unique petitions registered in December 2023 are to be completed in January-February 2024.
The handling of petitions is carried out at the level of the ASF by means of the dedicated IT application, which ensures the recording and keeping of petitions in real time.
Digitisation and technological innovation are part of ASF’s regular way of handling petitions, so that 95.63% of all petitions are processed exclusively by electronic means.
