Press briefing: ASF organizes the PAD 2022 Caravan

Bucharest, 17 October 2022 The Financial Supervisory Authority is holding the 6th edition of the PAD Caravan in October 2022 (also known internationally as the Home Insurance Month), the main objective of which is to raise awareness of the role and usefulness of compulsory PAD insurance (Natural Disaster Insurance Policy) against the three natural disasters provided for by law: earthquake, landslide and flood.

This year, from 17 to 21 October 2022, the Caravan will travel two national routes, with stops in different county seats, in order to have a dialogue with local authorities - representatives of county councils, town halls of the crossed counties and other local public authorities, in order to provide useful information on PAD insurance.

The first route will pass through the cities of Bacau, Vaslui, Iasi, Botosani, Suceava, Falticeni, Piatra Neamt and Buzau, while the second will pass through Giurgiu, Calarasi, Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Focsani and Slobozia.

During the meetings, ASF representatives, together with PAID and UNSAR specialists, will interact directly with the participants, presenting them how the functioning mechanism of PAD insurance, the risks it covers, what are the exclusions, what to do in case of damage, etc.

October has been associated worldwide with the fight against natural disasters since 2009, when the UN General Assembly designated 13 October as International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.
