Financial education program for students who want to trade on the stock exchange

Bucharest, 3 February 2022 - The Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) has initiated a financial education program through which students and master students from the 24 partner universities of the Authority, regardless of the subject of study, will be able to use the demo trading platform of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) free of charge, where they will learn and experience investor activity.

The program is an educational one, which does not involve financial risks or the use of one’s own money. The educational project will start on 21 March 2022 and will begin with an online training seminar, organized in order to understand the basics of an investment in the capital market, but also how to access and operate the trading platform.

Access to BVB’s demo platform will be available for four weeks, until 15 April 2022. Throughout the period, participants will receive free advice if they need help or guidance. Basically, this program is based on learning-by-doing learning experiences, a modern concept of study.

To enroll in this program, students will fill out an online form that they will receive from their university. Registrations can be made until 14 March 2022.

The 24 partner universities whose students will be able to participate in this program are: Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest, Romanian-American University, Babeș-Bolyai University, Danubius University, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Petru Maior University, West University of Timișoara, National School of Political and Administrative Studies, Vasile Alecsandri Bacău University, University of Craiova, University of Oradea, Ovidius University of Constanța, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Valahia University of Târgoviște, “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Nicolae Titulescu University of Bucharest, University of Bucharest, Technical University of Constructions of Bucharest, “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați, Polytechnic University of Bucharest and “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava.

The FSA project will take place during Global Money Week 2022 (21 -15 March 2022), a global financial education event under the auspices of OECD, in which entire communities join forces to stimulate better knowledge of the financial environment, to remove obsolete financial policies and to provide young people with the tools and inspiration they need to shape their own future.
