A.S.F. President, high-level meetings with his Italian counterparts

Bucharest, 15 June 2022 –The President of the Financial Supervisory Authority, Mr Nicu Marcu, met in Rome from 13 to 15 June for bilateral high-level meetings with the President of CONSOB (Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa - National Commission for Companies and the Stock Exchange), Mr Paolo Savona, and the President of IVASS (Istituto per la Vigilanza sulle Assicurazioni – The Institute for the Supervision of Insurance), Mr Luigi Federico Signorini. Mrs Gabriela Dancău, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania to the Italian Republic, also attended the meetings.

Discussions focused mainly on the evolution and growth prospects of the non-bank financial markets in Romania and Italy. The meetings also addressed topics such as: supervisory methodology for brokerage firms, investment funds and investment managers; supervisory methodology for insurance/reinsurance companies; supervisory procedure for non-bank financial entities from the perspective of risk-based supervision; supervisory tools adapted to the new challenges in the financial markets; correlations between the indicators used; scoring/rating formulas; methodologies used in determining these scoring formulas.

The A.S.F. delegation included: The President of the Authority, Mr. Nicu Marcu, Mr. Ioan Țara, member of the A.S.F. Board and Mr. Paul Barangă, Director of the Integrated Supervision Directorate.

These meetings are part of the Financial Supervisory Authority's efforts to increase transparency and develop bilateral relations with similar European and international institutions.
