Financial Supervisory Authority and the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova, strategic partnership for promoting financial education among competitive athletes across the Prut River

Bucharest, 5 December 2025 – The Financial Supervisory Authority  of Romania (ASF) and the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS) of the Republic of Moldova signed a strategic cooperation agreement today, through which the two institutions aim to develop joint projects focused on strengthening financial education among athletes and coaches, as well as promoting Olympic values in society.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Mrs. Marghieva Zalina, Secretary General of CNOS, and Mr. Gabriel-Ioan Avrămescu, First Vice President of ASF. The event, which took place at the headquarters of the National Olympic and Sports Committee in Chisinau, was attended by members of the CNOS Executive Committee, representatives of ASF and National Sports Federations of the Republic of Moldova, Olympic athletes, and coaches.

"Athletes need not only performance on the field, but also stability and confidence in their own future. Financial education is an important tool for life after a sports career, and through this collaboration we want to provide athletes with the support they need to make informed and responsible decisions about their finances. ASF will continue to support such initiatives, aimed at developing and strengthening relations between institutions in Romania and the Republic of Moldova," said ASF's First Vice-President.

The document provides a framework for collaboration over a two-year period, with the possibility of extension, and includes the organization of training programs, conferences, seminars, public campaigns, and other events dedicated to competitive athletes, Olympic teams, and technical staff affiliated with CNOS. The programs will address topics such as responsible financial resource management, the importance of long-term planning, risk protection, as well as essential concepts about financial markets, insurance, and savings instruments.

The collaboration between ASF and CNOS represents a significant step in strengthening institutional relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova in the field of financial education. The partnership will provide athletes with access to relevant resources and the expertise of ASF specialists, contributing to the formation of a new generation of athletes who are better prepared to manage the economic challenges of their post-athletic careers.
