Online financial education club for high school students

Bucharest, August 3rd, 2020 - The Financial Supervisory Authority, the Ministry of Public Finance and the Romanian Banks’ Association are launching in FinClub partnership, a financial education program for X-XII high school students classes, passionate about the financial market.

Carried out under the patronage of the Collaboration Agreement on Financial Education, the program involves the creation of a financial education club whose activity will take place in the form of bi-monthly online meetings. The topic of the meetings will cover topics related to the knowledge and deepening of financial notions and concepts.

            FinClub will allow, in the first year, the participation of 100 students from all over the country, and the meetings will take place between September 1st, 2020 - June 1st, 2021. Registrations in FinClub can be made online, between August 3rd, 2020 - August 24th, 2020. The meetings will be attended by guests, lecturers, teachers, trainers, representatives of financial markets, representatives of different economic sectors, people with different professional specializations.

            Financial education occupies a strategic place on the agenda of the signatory institutions of the Cooperation Agreement. We consider that concerted actions for the improval of the financial education level are needed among Romanians through a national coordinated effort, therefore ensuring the achievement of the main strategic objectives of improving financial well-being. The Cooperation Agreement concluded between the four institutions aims at carrying out joint activities in the field of financial education and the elaboration of the National Strategy for Financial Education (Ro. SNEF).
